A Wedding in Alentejo

Have you ever heard about Alentejo? This is a region in Portugal known for it's vast fields, that end in the horizon. Known for it's amazing people and there traditions. For it's authentic gastronomy. It's Alentejo! Welcome to one of the greatest places in Portugal. And I had the opportunity to film a Wedding here.
Meet Ana & Mário!
It's not easy to describe these two. If we could choose words to describe them, we could go with extravagant, crazy, happy, simple, lovely, adventurous... But no. They are EPHIC! From the first time we met at the Arabic fair in Mértola, I knew I had the couple that would allow me to get creative. And that happened.
Between her crazyness and his wealling to do everything I was asking them to do ("IT'S FOR THE VIDEO!") we were able to capture their essence, their ways and their love! And this is what making a Wedding film is really about for me.
THE WEDDING
Filming a wedding in Alentejo is more than just making a wedding film. It's a whole new experience! They decided to get married on top of a hill, in a remote hermitage. The way up there was an incredible challenge, with dirt roads all the way up, making everyone believe that it was the end... But like they say, "difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations".
After a difficult road to heaven, time to party... and these people know how to party! But of course, they had to make an entrance.
On two beautifully cared horses, they made their way to the party venue.
I don't think this was that type of wedding that had it's moments. The whole wedding was THE MOMENT!
It was their moment and I'm incredibly honoured that I captured this beautiful hot day in Alentejo. It was worth every drop of sweat.
